Dear seqinr user,
I used to extract sequences using seqinr functions regularly but today I received the following message when choosing the bank:
choosebank("Genbank", verbose="TRUE")
Error in socketConnection(host = host, port = port, server = server, blocking = blocking, :
cannot open the connection
In addition: Warning message:
In socketConnection(host = host, port = port, server = server, blocking = blocking, :
pbil.univ-lyon1.fr:5558 cannot be opened
Error in choosebank("genbank") :
I wasn't able to open the socket connection:
o Check that your are connected to the internet.
o Check that port 5558 is not closed by a firewall.
o Try to increase timeout value (current is 5 seconds).
Here my sessionInfo()

So I think the problem come from the server, in addition I also tried to access seqinr R web page (http://pbil.univ-lyon1.fr/software/SeqinR) but I got the following message:
Ce site est inaccessible
pbil.univ-lyon1.fr n'autorise pas la connexion.
* Accédez à http://www.univ-lyon1.fr/
* Effectuez une recherche Google sur pbil univ lyon1 fr software SeqinR<https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=pbil%20univ%20lyon1%20fr%20software%20SeqinR>.
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
So it seems that the problem comes from the server that refuse the connection, but why?
For information, I'm based in New Zealand.
Thanks very much in advance!
David
