[GenABEL-dev] GenABEl failing to load

Dear GenABEL developers

The GenABEL package is failing to load for us on multiple Ubuntu 
machines (running Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS). We had version 1.7.2 installed 
and working fine before Christmas. We get the following error when 
trying to load GenABEL or re-install via CRAN:

Error : .onLoad failed in loadNamespace() for 'GenABEL', details:
   call: stringSplit[[1]]
   error: subscript out of bounds


Do you have any suggestions?
