[Seqinr-forum] problems with "Error in acnucopen(bank, socket) : Empty answer from server"

Hi all,

I am trying to use seqinr to retrieve some sequences from uniprot, but when
I tried to use the function choosebank("swissprot"), I get the error
message:

Error in acnucopen(bank, socket) : Empty answer from server

I checked that when I ping www.uniprot.org, I get an answer.

I tried telneting to www.uniprot.org port 5558 and it does not seem like
it's replying at all.  Am I doing something wrong specifically?
