thanks for your e-mail, sorry  as well for my delay in answering :-)
The difference in the number of sequences associated to the author 
"Arctander" between acnuc and ncbi systems comes
from the way ACNUC indexes references:
When a sequence reference is "unpublished" or"submitted" ( this the case 
of  AF106218 reference ), it is indexed with a
 reference "UNPUBL/year/1st-author" which is attched to the first author 
only instead the whole list of authors.
