[Rsiena-help] connection error

Dear Ruth,

I have recently purchased a new computer with multiple processors, and was looking forward to seeing how quickly my SIENA models would run. However, after downloading R version 2.14, my existing RSIENA scripts no longer work.

The errors are:

Error in socketConnection("localhost", port = port, server = TRUE, blocking = TRUE,  : 
  cannot open the connection
In addition: Warning message:
In socketConnection("localhost", port = port, server = TRUE, blocking = TRUE,  :
  port 10187 cannot be opened

I have found some webpages that describe this error, but as I am not fully conversant with R, these make little sense to me. Can you please assist? I am hopeful there is an easy remedy.
