Just as a reminder, application submission deadline is today, 3pm EDT
(12pm PDT, 19:00 UTC).
The project ideas page is coming together nicely. Thank you to
everyone for your input and for spending the time to formulate a
tractable idea!
I am pulling together the material for the application itself as a
Google doc, which I'll publish a first draft of shortly. Any input
will be much appreciated.
If you have not been a mentor last year but are listed as one this
year (or if you have changed your Google account), *please* email me
your Google ID ASAP. Google requires Google accounts from *all* mentors.
If you have suggested a project idea to me and I haven't gotten back
to you it is solely due to the fact that I need to focus now on the
application material and just haven't had time yet. Please don't be
discouraged, I *will* get back to you. We can still add project ideas
after we are accepted or while Google reviews the organization
applications.
I have opened the IRC channel #phylosoc on Freenode and will hang out
there most of the time until 3pm today. If you have questions or
suggestions, feel free (read: encouraged) to join me there and type
away.
(A list of IRC clients is for example at http://directory.google.com/
Top/Computers/Software/Internet/Clients/Chat/IRC/. I use X-Chat Aqua,
which works really well. To join the channel, make sure you connect
to Freenode, and then type
/join #phylosoc
at the prompt.)
Also, if you are not yet subscribed to the wg-phyloinformatics list,
please do so at your earliest convenience (https://lists.nescent.org/
mailman/listinfo/wg-phyloinformatics). I won't keep copying everyone.
Almost there!
