Sounds like a good option to me too, I hadn't thought of that.
My question with this option is how payments are processed. Is there a
company that provides this kind of button+service? And what do they charge?
For Google and Gratipay I already found those details.

The nice thing about Gratipay and BountySource.com is that you can more
directly show/inform the audience what the money will be used for. With
a donate button and Google Ads that is not so easy.
