[GenABEL-dev] Fwd: Package GenABEL_1.7-0.tar.gz has been built for Windows

Dear List,

I've run into something peculiar with GenABEL 1.7-0. Some time ago I
installed it without problems on one of our servers. Today, when we load
the package we get the following error:

Error : .onLoad failed in loadNamespace() for 'GenABEL', details:
  call: stringSplit[[1]]
  error: subscript out of bounds
Error: package/namespace load failed for ‘GenABEL’

This is on Ubuntu Linux 10.04, x64, R 2.14.1.

While looking into this today, I tried to install GenABEL from CRAN on
another server (CentOS Linux, x64, R 2.13.1) and on my workstation
(Ubuntu Linux 11.11, x64, R 2.14.1). Both failed:

** testing if installed package can be loaded
Error : .onLoad failed in loadNamespace() for 'GenABEL', details:
  call: stringSplit[[1]]
  error: subscript out of bounds
Error: loading failed
Execution halted
ERROR: loading failed
* removing ‘/home/lennart/Programmeren/R/lib/GenABEL’

The downloaded packages are in
	‘/tmp/RtmpraRfqM/downloaded_packages’
Warning message:
In install.packages("GenABEL") :
  installation of package ‘GenABEL’ had non-zero exit status


Any idea what is going on here? Has anyone else seen this behaviour?
