  ‘qpdf’ made some significant size reductions:
     compacted ‘ABEL-tutorial.pdf’ from 9.9Mb to 3.7Mb
     compacted ‘GenABEL-manual.pdf’ from 704Kb to 384Kb
     compacted ‘GenABEL-tutorial.pdf’ from 2.0Mb to 1.8Mb
  consider running tools::compactPDF() on these files

Can you pls use qpdf and a current release version of R to achieve the
above size reductions?
