[Rcppoctave-user] unable to install RcppOctave (Octave 3.8 Linux)

One more thought: have you tried installing after doing

export CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/include/mpi -DMPICH_SKIP_MPICXX -DOMPI_SKIP_MPICXX"

?
