[datatable-help] Unable to Import .xls file

Did you try the xlsx package?

install.packages("xlsx")
mydata <- read.xlsx("myfile.xls")

Not sure how well it handles HTML formatting.  Your best bet may be to just
save it as a tab-delimited text file and use the read.csv function.

mydata<- read.csv("myfile.txt", sep = "\t")
