datatable-help -- General help and discussion about the data.table package in R including bug reports

About datatable-help
English (USA)

This list is specifically for the data.table package in R. This list is not r-help.

If you arrived at this page from Nabble please be aware that datatable-help
is a sub-forum of the main R forum on Nabble. Each sub-forum has it's own
list. The main R forum (the top level) is r-help. If you are planning to post to
r-help please PLEASE spend 20 minutes reading the posting guide first (for
your own benefit) :

The data.table package extends data.frame to provide keys, fast grouping,
fast extract and fast ordered joins in a short and flexible syntax. Further
information is on the homepage:

Please subscribe before posting. If you post without subscribing first you
will receive the following automatic email reply :

Your post to datatable-help has been rejected because your email address is unknown. Nobody will see it, not even the administrators of the list. This policy is in place solely to avoid spam.

This list concerns the "data.table" package for the statistical software programming environment called "R". Please do not post here about anything else. This list is not r-help. If your question is about R, and you have read the r-help posting guide, then post to r-help instead.

If you posted using Nabble then it will show the status "not accepted by mailing list yet". In fact it will never be accepted. We have suggested a small improvement to Nabble and we hope this will be accepted one day. If you mistakenly attempted to post to this list from Nabble then you (and only you) can remove your own post from Nabble. Doing that will help others in future when they search and browse the archives for answers using Nabble.

Unfortunately, the datatable-help list does not have moderators who can approve posts from non-members in a timely manner, unlike r-help.

To validate your email address it's very easy and works in the same way that r-help does. Please just subscribe to datatable-help first and then post again:

Just like r-help, subscription is fully automatic and normally instant. Once a list member your posts are unmoderated and sent instantly.

Just like r-help there are settings to receive a daily email digest, or even to receive no emails at all. This way you can subscribe simply to post freely, without any incoming email traffic. You might do this if you use a newsreader or Nabble to view the list.

** Just like r-help, the list is public domain and all posts are archived. **

Thank you.
