The data.frame methods for mean() and sd() have been deprecated since
October 2011, but CRAN packages

gstat (in tests/windst.R: the > 50 warnings have not be printed out!)
lmodel2 (in vignette mod2user.Rnw)
nsRFA (in vignette nsRFA_ex01.Rnw)
pequod (in many examples)

are still using them.  They will be gone by R 3.0.0 (and are in R-devel
now), so please update belatedly.
Before Jan 25 if you want to retain the package on CRAN.
