Dear Avril,

yes, you can install your own local ACNUC server. This is explained
in chapter 8 (Installation of a local ACNUC socket server and of
a local ACNUC database on your computer) in the documentation that
ships with seqinr. The documentation is also available on R-forge
here: http://seqinr.r-forge.r-project.org/
