[Rsiena-help] Error

Dear Alon,

I hope that Nate’s remark was helpful.
Further, for error messages, any detailed investigation needs the version of RSiena or RSienaTest you are using, and a minimal example (with script; if it cannot be reproduced with data internal to RSiena, if possible with also the data set).
Further, if this error appeared not with the latest version of RSiena/Test from R-Forge, it always is a good idea to see whether it appears for the latest version.
Further, for requesting help, it is polite to mention some identifying information (name, affiliation) – note that you are asking others to help you, and anonymity then is to be avoided.

Best wishes,
Tom

Hi Alon.

This isn’t going to be extremely helpful directly to you, but may be to others that can provide more help.

My brief analysis suggests this is an over/underflow issue with the software. Notice that

2^30 = 1073741824

A difference of only 15 from the value you supplied. My guess is 2^30 represents the level of precision possible for the variable type used in the software. This may be a bug or some oddly inputted data. It is probably worth it to tell the group the version of the software you are using, as well as any other details that might help identify where the problem might be. A reproducible example (with data) often has the effect of speeding up the path to a solution.

Dear friends,

Can anyone help me with this problem:

when I run Siena07 I get the following (copied from R's log file):
ERROR Unexpected exception: The number 1073741839 is not in the range [0,340) of actors acting as receivers of ties; LOGGED FROM: int main(int, char *const *).....

I looked at the data but I don't have any member with that id (1073741839).
 what should I do?
