[Rnomads-user] rNOMADS::GribGrab function seems to be failing

Hi Danny and all rNOMADS users,
I've been unable to download data from the NOMADS website for the last several days by using the rNOMADS package.  

To my understanding, this is due to the rNOMADS::GribGrab function failing with an error like
<simpleError in download.file(grb.url, paste(local.dir, file.name, sep = "/"),     mode = "wb", quiet = !verbose): cannot open URL 'https://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/filter_gfs_0p25_1hr.pl?file=gfs.t12z.pgrb2.0p25.f018&lev_2_m_above_ground=on&lev_entire_atmosphere_%5C%28considered_as_a_single_layer%5C%29=on&lev_entire_atmosphere=on&lev_surface=on&lev_surface=on&lev_10_m_above_ground=on&lev_10_m_above_ground=on&lev_2_m_above_ground=on&lev_2_m_above_ground=on&lev_surface=on&lev_surface=on&lev_surface=on&lev_surface=on&lev_surface=on&lev_surface=on&lev_surface=on&lev_surface=on&var_SPFH=on&var_PWAT=on&var_TCDC=on&var_APCP=on&var_PRES=on&var_UGRD=on&var_VGRD=on&var_TMP=on&var_DPT=on&var_SHTFL=on&var_WEASD=on&var_DLWRF=on&var_ULWRF=on&var_DSWRF=on&var_USWRF=on&var_LHTFL=on&var_GFLUX=on&subregion=&leftlon=1081&rightlon=1083&toplat=521&bottomlat=519&dir=%2Fgfs.20210202%2F12'>
When I try to download the .grb files manually from their URLs, I succeed in so doing.
Has anybody else had similar experience?  Is there anything I might be missing?
