[Rnomads-user] rNOMADS Patch

Were you able to load the rNOMADS fix from about two weeks ago? I have not been able to get it to work? Below is the code I used and the error message.

Installing package into ‘C:/Users/Owner/Documents/R/win-library/4.0’
(as ‘lib’ is unspecified)

Warning in install.packages :
package ‘C:/Ballooning/WeatherBriefing/rNOMADS_2.5.0.tar.gz’ is not available (for R version 4.0.2)
I get the same error message when I back off to R version 3.6.3. I have even tried to unzip the folder and load it that way without success.

I have two questions. First, are you using Windows or Linux?

Second, can you send the the code that worked for you? I keep wondering if I doing something wrong. Several colleagues, not rNOMADS users, have made suggestions like adding type=”source” but I keep hitting a brick wall.

If you are interested, I‘m trying to correlate low level winds from the Rapid Refresh Forecasts to longitude, latitude, and speed data from a phone ap that tracks hot air balloon flights. Attached is a flight my wife made in Mesquite Nevada. By changing altitude, color coded, she tracked back and forth across I-15 six times in an hour. We joke that the FAA serial number on my father-in-law’s balloon was N-1132R. And the R stands for ridicules. We don’t go anywhere...we really don’t accomplish anything. But it’s kind of a Zen thing. Controlling the balloon by finding the right wind is such a hoot.
