Dear pomp users,
I've just submitted pomp version X.XX-X to CRAN. Source code and binaries
should become available on the mirrors over the next few days. This is a new
feature and enhanced performance release. Highlights include:
1. pompBuilder, which makes it easier to construct, compile, and link fast
pomp objects using native codes. See the demos for examples of its use. Note
that this feature is experimental and the interface may change in the future.
The bare bones of an example using this facility can be found in the 'advanced
topics' vignette.
2. It is now possible to have access to the 'userdata' slot from user-defined
native C code. The C functions 'get_pomp_userdata', 'get_pomp_userdata_int',
and 'get_pomp_userdata_double' allow access to general, integer, and floating-
point elements in the 'userdata' list.
3. The data()-loadable examples have been reworked to make use of the above-
mentioned facility. Note that these changes are not backward compatible, so
code you have that depends on the data()-loadable examples may be broken....
4. There are now several demos provided with the package. Some of thse
demonstrate 'pompBuilder'.
5. I have reworked the guts of the 'trajectory' and 'skeleton' calculations so
that these are now much faster.
As always, see the package NEWS file, ChangeLog, and source code for more
details.
Happy pomping!
Aaron
