PS There has been a fair amount of development/upheaval in Rcpp
recently. It would be helpful if everyone who has a moment or two could
try R CMD check on the current SVN version, to see if it breaks with old
versions of Rcpp (i.e., should we add a dependency on a more-recent
version of Rcpp?)
cheers
