Note that having underscores in function names is very unusual in R  
(or at least used to be, due to problems the interpreter would have  
with that in an early version if I recall correctly).

It used to be all dots between the syllables but meanwhile I see a  
lot of camelCase too; in fact that seems to be the trend.
