You're absolutely right. The initial idea was to provide several examples of
makefiles depending on the architecture (compiler, BLAS/LAPACK version, OS, ...).
But this would probably get too messy

For an "official release" we must make user's life easier. I am considering two
options: autotools and cmake. I have no experience with any of them, I'll take a
look and ask for help if necessary ;)
