improving 'clean' part -- well spotted (and done)!

as for the changes in TeX docu, do I understand correctly that you
improved the readability of the TeX file by avoiding too long lines +
patched some formulas?

It is pity that TeX diff was not in the mail (pdf-diff was uselessly
there though), so I had to get a diff myself. Something to think of --
in the devel version, we probably do want to avoid keeping generated
files. Something to think about...
