Dear Sir or Madam,
We would like to make a preliminary request on the possibility to publish a series of publications on methodology of genome-wide association (GWA) studies in the format of "review tutorials" in "BMC Bioinformarics".
This is somewhat new format, in which we aim to both provide theoretical review of the subject and hands-on tutorial allowing technical implementation.
Our feeling is that this type of publications can be quite beneficial to the scientific community -- not only the general insight and guidelines will be provided, but also technical details of possible implementation and reproducible research workflow will be given.
The topics we have in mind include
* Quality control for GWA studies
* GWA analysis of stratified population and dealing with population stratification
* Meta-analysis of GWA studies
* Use of variance components models in GWA studies
* etc. related
We are very interested to learn your opinion if "BMC Bioinformarics" (or any other BMC journal) would be interested in publishing a series of such "review tutorials".
with best wishes,
on behalf of the GenABEL project developers' team,
Yurii Auchenko
