[FLR-list] Course on MSE using FLR, 25-29 November 2019, JRC Ispra, Italy.

Dear all,



This is to announce that we will be running a 5 days course titled "Management Strategies Evaluation with FLR and a4a", as follows:



- Dates: 25-29 November 2019, 9AM-5PM.

- Location: EC JRC, Ispra, ITALY.

- Requirements: Proficiency in R and some experience in FLR. Sufficient knowledge of population dynamics, fisheries modelling and statistics.

- Fees: The course is free of charge, and you will need to cover your transport, accommodation and living expenses.



Programme outline



Day 01 MSE concepts and introduction to FLR and the a4a MSE platform.

Day 02 Operating model conditioning.

Day 03 Observation error model and estimation of stock status or trends.

Day 04 Harvest control rules, implementation systems and implementation error.

Day 05 Summarising results and tools for dialogue.
