Great, thanks a lot both of you. For the purpose of the teaching I will stick to the 32-bits tutorial (it runs fine), but will keep the other for my other works. Good job!

Hi Clara,
We are using a4a within the FLBEIA Management Procedure, you can see how we do it in FLBEIA:::sca2flbeia. You should put fit = 'MP' to avoid computing the hessian in every year and iteration.
To compile the packages in windows I use Rstudio, it allows compiling packages for linux and windows. You have to do a project using the folder where you have the code and then 'build/more/build source package' or 'build/more/build binary package' depending if you want to compile it for windows or linux.
Other way is to us install_github function and compile it directly from github, but this function only installs the package.
Regards,
Dorleta

Asunto: [FLR-list] tutorial on MSE
Dear all,
Sorry, lots of questions these days, but as I am teaching the new FLR to Master students I have to get into all details...
I am up to the point of the demo MSE in the tutorial, and I wonder why we still use the XSA for the demo MSE, and not the a4a, could the a4a also be used in a MSE setup?
Also - now thanks to Flasher everything can be moved to 64 bits, but XSA is not compiled for 64 bits. Why is it so, and can you just remind me if and how I can compile it manually in order to run the MSE tutorial without having to switch to 32 bits?
Thanks in advance
Clara
