I was able to install it (using R 2.12.1) from the source, i.e., the expm_0.99-1.1.tar.gz file, and at least example(expm) worked fine. > and would it be possible to receive the package source in windows binary (zip) format? Well, you should be able to have someone do this at your company, if you want (or your company wants you) to work with such a very old version of R, you (or some expert at your company) need install the 'Rtools' (including C compiler etc) on at least one Windows machine, so you can *build* binary Windows packages from "source" and produce *zip files that others can use to install.
