Hi Inez,
Thank you for your interest in using BaSTA. Currently, the package calculates a life table, but we are fixing several bugs. As an alternative, I’ve put together the package paramDemo in GitHub (https://github.com/fercol/paramDemo). With it you can calculate life expectancy and other summary statistics with the mortality parameter outputs from BaSTA. Let me know if this is something that can help and if you need any assistance.
Best,
Fernando

Subject: [Basta-users] Life expectancy and BaSTA
Hello,
I have been enjoying using BaSTA recently and was wondering whether the package allows one to compute life expectancy L(x) in a specific function/combination of functions (such as with MakeLifeTable?).
If not, is there a way to get the table of values on which the survival curve is based? I.e., the value of S(x) for each age.
Any input you may have would be very helpful, and thank you for allowing users to ask questions!
Best wishes,
Inez
