[adegenet-forum] Significance of allelic contribution to discriminant functions

Hello,

   I know the $var.contr slot gives the contribution of the alleles to each
discriminant function, but is there a way to test the statistical
significance of these contributions?  I am primarily interested in
identifying (in a statistical manner) the alleles that most contribute to
my first two discriminant functions, which happen to separate my various
populations. I am currently using an arbitrary cutoff of the top 1% of
alleles.
