Hello all,

I just wanted to alert everyone that NOAA is upgrading/changing the Global Forecast System model products on NOMADS. I don't anticipate needing to release a new version of rNOMADS because of this.

However:

Abbreviations are going to change, for example: gfs_hd will become gfs_0p50

Some variables/levels will be removed, others will be added.

If your code stops working, first try using NOMADSRealTimeList to check if the model you want is still in the NOMADS inventory. Also, NOMADS may be down for tomorrow and potentially longer, depending on how smoothly the transition goes, so be aware of that
as well.
