Octave version is 3.8.2 but this time is complied with the ./configure options --with-hdf5-includedir=/usr/include/hdf5/serial --with-hdf5-libdir=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/hdf5/serial <br><br>Ubuntu 15.04 now allows installing both the serial and openmpi versions for hdf5 they are installed in the subdirectories .../hdf5/serial and ../hdf5/openmpi respectively. Octave seems to have a problem picking up hdf5 in the openmpi subdirectory so I used the serial version.<br><br>Thanks.<br> </div></div>
