Hi,

>>> Just wondering, why did you decide to move to tcltk?

RGtk2 and gWidgetsRGtk2 worked well for my own use, but the extra
installation steps of the Gtk2 library were causing headaches for
other people. For someone who installs R from the standard Mac or
Windows binaries,  my package would install the standard way if I rely
on tcltk and gWidgetstcltk.

But now I might just revert to RGtk2 and wait until qtgui is ready to
go on CRAN. I guess people will still have to install the Qt library
separately, but hopefully I can improve my GUI enough to justify it. I
especially like QWizard and the potential to have a nice integrated
help system. The R help system is not ideal when users have a question
about an option the GUI gives them.

I subscribed right before I sent the original mail, but maybe it takes
a little while for it to register me.

I just reinstalled all the packages from the svn sources and now it is
not crashing anymore. Previously, I had just done

install.packages(c("qtdevice", "qtpaint", "mosaiq"),
                repos = "http://r-forge.r-project.org")

I am not sure why that would make a difference if R-Forge builds the
packages daily from the trunk. But anyway, this crash is gone.

Thanks,
Ben
