<p>That's one for R-Forge support  (link to their tracker on R-Forge homepage).   My impression is that Mac folk install from source using R CMD INSTALL as you would on unix really.   I'm not even sure what is in the .tgz that isn't in the .tar.gz.  Sorry!</p>
